NFL Interception Props FAQ

An interceptions prop bets on how many times a quarterback’s passes get caught by the defense in a game. Most books set this at 0.5, so a single pick already hits the over. Say Bo Nix’s line is 0.5 interceptions. Zero picks wins the under, and one or more wins the over.

The quarterback’s charged with a pass attempt on an intercepted pass, the same as on a completion or an incompletion. An accepted defensive pass interference penalty wipes out the play entirely, so a pass that draws that flag can’t also be picked off for stat purposes. At FanDuel, for example, overtime counts toward interception props unless the market says otherwise. The official interception count from the game’s what settles the bet.

Interceptions move with how much a quarterback has to push the ball downfield under pressure, so check pressure rate and average depth of target together. A team that’s trailing late tends to take more chances down the field, so game script matters here too. Injuries in the secondary or along the pass rush can shift this number, which is part of why player prop injury and void rules are worth understanding before you bet it.

Yes. A pass caught by the defense counts as an interception no matter when in the game it happens or how deep the quarterback was throwing. There’s no separate rule for a last-play throw, it’s scored the same as any other interception.

Yes, as long as the defense ends up with possession of a forward pass. The league doesn’t score a tipped interception any differently than a clean one for the quarterback’s total, it’s still one intercepted pass either way it lands.

At FanDuel, for example, a player prop only gets voided if that player doesn’t take a single snap in the game. If he plays part of the game and then leaves, whatever interceptions he threw up to that point still count toward the bet.
