Why I built Prop Lab

Researching NFL props used to mean a pile of open tabs and apps. Sportsbooks for the lines, injury pages, betting blogs, a couple of stats sites, ESPN running on the TV in the background, and TikTok to catch what the analysts were saying. Sorting through all of it took more time than I usually had.

So I started wondering what it would look like if all the things I was looking for lived in one place, laid out so I could make sense of it. That question turned into Prop Lab.

A little about who's behind it, since I think it matters. I'm not a sportsbook, betting professional, or a picks seller. I'm a lifelong football fan and a stats nerd who's still learning the betting side, and I've spent the last few years pulling apart what AI can and can't do. I built the first version of Prop Lab for myself, because nothing out there did what I wanted.

I noticed a lot of betting tools are built to find edges. They compare the price a sportsbook is offering against a sharper market and flag the spots where the book looks off. That's useful, and it's where I started. But an edge only tells you a number might be mispriced. It doesn't tell you why, and it doesn't tell you what's likely to happen on the field.

I wanted to get at that second part. So I started experimenting with layering AI into my workflow, to see if it could help me predict outcomes better instead of just pointing at a price gap.

The problem was that AI on its own wasn't capable or consistent. Even frontier models on paid plans would hallucinate statistics, pull outdated information, and analyze each prop a little differently. So I built Prop Lab to work the other way around. It pulls the raw information first, players, teams, games, play-by-play stats, advanced analytics, weather, and injuries, aggregates it, runs it through my own model, and hands the AI the same structured packet for every prop. Now the AI does what it's best at. It works through far more data than I ever could, gives every prop the same depth of analysis, and surfaces the context that matters most. The research I used to save for a game or two now reaches the whole slate.

Prop Lab is an NFL prop betting analytics tool. It won't hand you guaranteed winners, it won't spam a Discord with screenshots of wins, and it can't tell you what's going to happen each week. What it does is bring your research and tools into one place and help you see it clearly, so you spend your time deciding instead of hunting for information. It's the tool I use every week for my own props, and it's built for people who go about it the same way.

It covers the NFL and only the NFL, and that's deliberate. It's the sport I know. I follow it closely, run a handful of fantasy teams every year, and I can tell when something looks off and look into it fast. The whole app is built around one league instead of spread across five.
